Big names drop out of Libra

Stripe, eBay, Mastercard and Visa have all reportedly bowed out of Facebook’s Libra cryptocurrency project.

• Last week, PayPal dropped out of the effort.
• Visa cited regulatory issues for its departure.
• Stripe, meanwhile, says it is remains “open” to working with the Libra Association again at a later stage.
