Blue Apron adds meal prep boxes

Meal kit service Blue Apron has introduced “meal prep” friendly options.

“Meal prep” typically refers to the practice of cooking multiple days’ worth of meals at one time whereas meal kits typically mean cooking a single meal at one time.

Blue Apron has designed its meal prep experience to fit within 90 minutes to two hours that result in a varied and balanced bundle.

Each recipe collection features two servings of four different meals.

The service is available in its signature, carb conscious, pescatarian, multi-cooker.

Blue Apron outlines the process like this: Unbox and plan, cook, make sauces, assemble and store and finish and serve.

Pricing starts at $8.99 per serving or $71.92 per box.

Initially the service is only available for customers in selection states on the east coast and mid-Atlantic, but the offering will expand nationally later this year.
