Meal kit provider Blue Apron has issued a statement about the measures it’s taking against coronavirus.

“Our fulfillment center associates follow rigorous personal sanitation steps prior to interacting with any ingredients we send to your home. This includes frequent hand washing and wearing gloves at all times,” reads the email the company sent out March 16, 2020.

“While the FDA guidance states that there currently is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19, we feel it’s important to reinforce our end to end food safety measures. We’ll be diligently monitoring COVID-19 and continuing to follow the guidance provided by the FDA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and local health agencies in the communities in which we operate,” it continues.

The statement reminds customers to wash hands frequently while preparing any meal, which is a good practice anyway.
