Costco is selling a $1,000 beef tenderloin

As part of a holiday entertaining promotion, Costco is selling an 8 lb. tenderloin roast for a thousand bucks.

In fairness, the beef is A-5 Grade Wagyu beef from Japan.
As of this writing, the roast has a 3.9 rating out of 5.
Some reviewers note the amount of fat that comes with the roast, claiming the cost of that fat alone is about $200.
Another reviewer feels the taste of the Wagyu is comparable to a regular American beef tenderloin.
In case you’re wondering, with a $999 price tag, which is actually a sale price, the cost comes out to about $125 a pound.
According to a Costco mailing, the price, which includes delivery, has been reduced by $250.
