‘Late Show’ sketch tries to sell Chicagoland on ‘Pottillo’s’ restaurant
With Illinois becoming the latest state to legalize recreational marijuana use, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” poked fun at the state with a sketch using one of the city’s most famous restaurants.
- In the sketch, Portillo’s, a chain known for its hot dogs and Italian beef, became “Pottillo’s.”
- Characters “Fat Al” and “South Side Donnie” were on all hand to promote the “chain.”
- Interestingly, “Al” is the name of one of Portillo’s competitors in the Italian beef arena.
