McDonald’s shifting to ‘to go’ only in U.S.

McDonald’s is switching to “to go” only mode in its company owned locations in the U.S. — and encouraging franchises to do so as well — due to coronavirus concerns.

Many locations have either already been forced to go to this model due to local or state regulations.

Franchised locations may also be forced to go to this approach as well even if they opt not to follow the corporate suggestion.

Affected locations will be closing down seating areas as well as play areas and self service beverage and condiment stations.

Most will still be remaining open for drive thru, delivery and to go orders (as available).

Most locations will also be discontinuing self ordering kiosks even for to go orders to reduce the need to touch surfaces in the stores.
