Meal kit service Home Chef issues coronavirus statement

Meal kit service Home Chef has issued a statement about coronavirus.

“Home Chef facilities have rigorous employee safety and food quality assurance programs in place. We are committed to good manufacturing practices, which include regular and frequent sanitization of equipment and require employees to wash hands regularly and wear gloves. We have increased sanitation frequency and are encouraging employees to use CDC best practices in and outside of work,” reads the email sent to customers.

The email also notes that there is no evidence that coronavirus can be spread through food or food packaging.

In addition, Home Chef also reminds customers that it always offers a “no contact” delivery that includes leaving packages unattended at customers’ doors.
