To be perfectly clear: You cannot contract coronavirus solely from drinking a beer or any other beverage.

While you could, in theory, contract any number of diseases by coming into contact with a container that someone infected with an illness drank from or touched, that’s certainly not limited to just Corona brand drinks.

A study released by a PR firm in late February 2020 seemed to suggest Americans are shying away from the brand due to an apparent connection to the product and virus. However, another study revealed that, while the “Corona” name is getting negative buzz, there’s not as clear cut of a connection.

Incidentally, the word “corona” has numerous other meanings — ranging from the atmosphere of a star to a genus of snails to part of the human male anatomy.
