Popeyes: ‘Bring your own bun’ and you can have a chicken sandwich … sort of
After running out of its chicken sandwich supply faster than anticipated, the marketing team at Popeyes tweeted a post about a new “offering” from the restaurant — “BYOB.”
- That’s meant to stand for “bring your own bun” and it’s what appears to be a tongue in cheek way to help tide hungry customers over until the sandwiches return.
- The tweet notes that the “BYOB” chicken sandwich idea doesn’t include mayo, pickles or the bun.
- It also relies on three chicken tenders instead of the patty normally used in the sandwich.
- “Really it’s just three tenders,” the company admits.
