Red Lobster location has not so buttery meltdown on Mother’s Day

A Red Lobster location in Ross Township, Pennsylvania, drew national attention after cheddar bay biscuit fans overwhelmed the restaurant on Mother’s Day.
The restaurant, which was closed for dine Sunday, May 10, 2020, in due to the coronavirus outbreak, but, like national and local restaurants alike, has shifted to try to offer customers more take out and delivery options.
However, customers and drivers for food delivery services were reporting hour long waits to pick up orders, many of which were placed in advance.
The restaurant ended up running out of food and closing before everyone could be served. Many customers opted to leave rather than wait in line and Red Lobster is promising refunds for customers who ordered directly through the restaurant or its official website — but orders through third party services will have to handled by those companies.
There were also reports that some of the people waiting became irate an the local police were brought in to help control the crowd.
In a statement, Red Lobster apologized for the fiasco and promised it is working on ways to prevent this from happening again.
