Starbucks has announced that, starting Monday, March 30, 2020, anyone identifying themselves as a “front line” responder in the coronavirus pandemic will be eligible to receive free coffee or tea.

The program is slated to run through May 3, 2020.

The company includes a broad range of workers in this category — including police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses as well as medical staff and researchers.

People working in these fields will be eligible to receive a free hot or iced brewed coffee or tea at participating locations.

It’s important to note that “handcrafted” beverages, food and other items are excluded from this offer.

Starbucks Foundation is also donating $500,000 to two organizations.

Operation Gratitude, which is assembling over 50,000 “care packages” for medical workers and Direct Relief’s efforts to supply health facilities with personal protective equipment with each receive $250,000.
