The hilarious way Burger King is twisting the golden arches

Burger King is running a promotion where customers can enjoy a Whopper for just a penny — and it’s so-called “Whopper Detour” takes a jab at “arch” rival McDonald’s logo design.
- In promotional materials for the marketing campaign — which requires users to order via BK’s mobile app from within 600 feet of a McDonald’s location — the chain created a “detour” traffic sign design with what appears to be a twisted backward arrow.
- Upon closer examination, however, that arrow mimics the McDonald’s iconic golden arches logo rotated 90-degrees with an arrow added to the upper “tail.”
- The glyph isn’t a direct copy of the McDonald’s arches and takes on a slightly hand-drawn look.
