Uber Eats has been hit with a big blow in the United Kingdom, losing the exclusive delivery rights for about 15 million McDonald’s deliveries a year.

Rival Just Eat, which is also a much larger company in the U.K., announced a deal to become McDonald’s second delivery partner.

Uber’s ride hailing business is also in jeopardy in the U.K. after officials yanked its London license in 2019.

The ride service can continue while the issue is under appeal.

Just Eat handled over 123 million food deliveries in 2018.

However, things aren’t necessarily all rosy for Just Eat and the McDonald’s deal thanks to low commission rates and low order values that McDonald’s tends to generate.
