Whole Foods will drop medical benefits for part time workers
Amazon announced it is cutting medical benefits for part time workers at its Whole Foods grocery stores.
- Whole Foods currently offers medical benefits for part time employees who work at least 20 hours a week.
- Starting Jan. 1, 2020, however, that won’t be the case if this plan goes through.
- Whole Foods was quick to point out that about 2% of its workforce will lose benefits.
- Whole Foods has about 95,000 workers, so that means about 1,900 people will lose the benefits.
- In a statement, Whole Foods said the changes are “to better meet the needs of our business and create a more equitable and efficient scheduling model.”
