Delivery service Shipt launched a new look in early 2020.

The company, which is owned by Target, dropped its original logo design featuring a flying saucer in a round green circle and distinctive lettering in favor of a heavier logotype and curvy shopping bag icon.

In the new design, custom lettering create a flowing, moving feel using thick letterforms.

The logo’s feeling of movement is continued in the slightly abstract stroke that forms the suggestion of a shopping bag with a handles ā€” that has also been recolored to a slightly richer shade of green.

This new design relies on the rather overused motif of shopping bags ā€” rather than the more unique UFO imagery used before. It also removes the subtle reference to “spaceship” that the old look conveyed.

That said, the new look is definitely a bit more accessible and friendly.

In addition to handling deliveries from local Target stores, Shipt also delivers from Meijer, Kroger, Office Max and Office Depot, Costco, CVS, Jewel-Osco and other brick and mortar retailers in select markets.

Customers place their orders online or using the Shipt app ā€” which is then “picked” by independent contractors and delivered to customers.
