Shopify has agreed to acquire logistics company Deliverr for $2.1 billion.

The deal, which is being done with cash and stock, will be Shopify’s largest acquisition to date.

Shopify will use the acquisition to expand its existing warehousing, fulfillment and delivery network that allows merchants to ship products to a facility where it’s stored until a customer places an order.

The service handles the picking, packing and delivery of the order. Deliverr also has developed algorithms that help it spread inventory out in warehouses across the country with the goal of strategically placing items most likely to be ordered in particular regions closer to where customers are to reduce shipping costs and time.

Deliverr already integrates with Shopify as well as companies who sell through Amazon, Walmart.com, Google Shopping, BigCommerce, Wish, Instagram, Facebook and more.

Shopify notes that the move is meant as part of a broader strategic “doubling down” on logistics services for businesses.

At the same time the acquisition was announced, Shopify also announced Shop Promise, a feature that will allow merchants to display dynamically generated delivery dates and badges on eligible products that signify the product is covered by two-day shipping and a hassle-free return policy.
