Who is the chief meteorologist at ABC 7 Chicago?

As of Nov. 6, 2019, ABC 7 Chicago does not have an official “chief” meteorologist.

• At most TV stations, the chief meteorologist appears on the station’s evening and late newscasts, typically in the time range of 5 to 11 p.m. local time.
• At WLS, ABC 7 Eyewitness News, Cheryl Scott and Larry Mowry share weather duties on the evening and late newscasts.
• However, neither of them has been given the official title of “chief” meteorologist.
• Prior to the current arrangement, Jerry Taft did hold the title of “chief” meteorologist — even as he cut back airtime as he neared retirement.
