After less than a year, “The Talk” co-host Elaine Welteroth is out at the CBS show.
With Welteroth, a former editor at Teen Vogue, gone, the show is left with only three regular co-hosts: Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots and Jerry O’Connell.
O’Connell just joined the show over the summer.
“The Talk” hasn’t had a great year. It lost Sharon Osbourne in March 2021 after a racism scandal. Meanwhile, Carrie Ann Inaba announced her departure within the past two weeks.
Insiders say Welteroth’s departure is at least partially linked to the storm of accusations around Osbourne, who is white. Welteroth, who is Black, was particularly unhappy after it was revealed a secret recording recording between the two had been leaked to the media.
Welteroth is also a judge on “Project Runway” and will continue in that role.
The show’s new season starts Sept. 13, 2021.
