CNN anchor Chris Cuomo took aim at Donald Trump’s inner circle for enabling his nearly constant stream of lying and spreading misinformation — including his newly installed press secretary Stephanie Grisham.
- On “Cuomo Prime Time” Aug. 29, 2019, the anchor called out Grisham statement to The Washington Post claiming Trump doesn’t lie.
- Her explanation is that Trump “communicates in a way that some people, especially the media, aren’t necessarily comfortable with.”
- “A lot of times, they take him so literally. I know people will roll their eyes if I say he was just kidding or was speaking in hypotheticals, but sometimes he is,” she added.
- While Cuomo acknowledged that Trump “sometimes” may be joking, he still called out about a key part of Grisham’s job: “Sometimes he’s lying and your job is not to make that OK, because your job is technically to the American people and that’s your responsibility,” Cuomo said.
