CNBC editor has an interesting thought about spreading coronavirus to help markets

CNBC’s Rick Santelli, often known as “the father of Tea Party,” made an odd statement about how spreading the coronavirus intentionally could help the global and domestic economy.

Santelli, who is CNBC’s editor, floated the notion during a March 5, 2020 appearance on the network.

“… Maybe we’d just be better off if we just gave (the virus) to everybody and then in a month it would be over, because the mortality rate of this probably wouldn’t be any different if we did it what way that the long term picture. But the difference is we’re wreaking havoc on domestic and global economies,” he said.
