Daily Caller reporter tries to ‘rickroll’ people with link to whistleblower memo

Peter Hasson, a senior reporter for The Daily Caller tweeted out a “link” to the declassified whistleblower complaint.
- The link, however, actually led the a YouTube video of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” — a phenomenon commonly known as “rickrolling.”
- Later, The Daily Caller tweeted that “Peter’s been let go,” though it appears to be in jest.
- Other Twitter users pointed out Hasson neglected to realize that, in my views, the tweet was accompanied by large thumbnail of the Astley music video.
- This removed the element of surprise that is typically requisite in a true “rickroll.”
