ESPN radio host Dan Le Batard has gone partially missing four days after a segment where he took aim at Donald Trump’s immigration policies and the infamous “send her back” cries at a rally.
Le Batard first made the comments Thursday, July 18, 2019 and sat out the final hour of the show Friday.
He opted to take Monday off, according to Sports Business Daily sources, who also said the time off is not part of any “punishment” ESPN may hand down.
ESPN has reportedly taken on a practice of avoiding political discussion on its platforms, instituted by network president Jimmy Pitaro.
Le Batard has reportedly been lobbying for Pitaro to relax the rules, but that has not happened.
While Le Batard was off the radio show where the comments were first made, he did appear on his “Highly Questionable” ESPN TV show Monday and seemed to take aim at his ESPN bosses.
