Fox News posted a story to its website with the headline “MSNBC, CNN ignore bombshell development in Mollie Tibbetts case on day of bad news for Trump.”
- CNN’s Oliver Darcy spotted the article and took issue with it.
- He tweeted “CNN has NOT ignored this story. It’s been covered on air and has been on CNN’s front page — in fact, it’s still on there featured very prominently.”
This is not true. CNN has NOT ignored this story. It's been covered on air and has been on CNN's front page — in fact, it's still on there featured very prominently. pic.twitter.com/PupGvPxN8i

- Fox News, in the hours leading up to the announcement of Paul Manafort’s guilty verdict and Michael Cohen’s plea deal, opted to run a teaser box for a Mollie Tibbetts press conference.
- While CNN and MSNBC extensively covered the impending announcements much of the day, Fox’s coverage didn’t quite match its competitors.
- The network did add live video feeds from outside the respective courthouses where the Manafort and Cohen announcements were made during “Shepard Smith Reports.”
