According to a source, Fox News has gone silent on Twitter — all in protest for how the social network handled posts targeting host Tucker Carlson.
Scott Gustin, manager of content strategy for Tribune Media, posted a series of tweets citing an anonymous source within the company.
The @FoxNews Twitter account has been silent for over 24 hours. A Fox News employee tells me Fox is choosing to stay silent while protesting how Twitter handled posts targeting Tucker Carlson — specifically the ones that included his address. address.

Gustin goes on to say that while Facebook was prompt in removing posts that include his home address, Twitter was not.
According to source, Facebook was prompt when alerted to posts that included his home address. Twitter support reportedly told Fox to "open a ticket" and did not remove the posts.

Fox News has not issued a statement confirming or denying the report it is boycotting Twitter, though Gustin reports his source says the blackout is from the “highest level” of the company.
Fox already released a statement condemning the Tucker protesters but there has been no official statement on the Twitter protest/blackout. Source says the Twitter blackout decision came "from the highest level" of the company.

According to Gustin’s source, Fox will continue to boycott Twitter until the tweets in question are removed and Twitter apologizes.
Source indicated Fox will remain silent until Twitter removes the tweets and apologizes for mishandling the situation.

Gustin also clarifies that Fox is apparently still using the social network for “breaking news alerts.”
A note – last several tweets from them are all breaking alerts. Don’t be surprised to see “breaking” tweets still going out during this “protest” involving Twitter.
