After a photo of R. Kelly jumping out of his chair and being restrained by someone during his taped interview with CBS News’ Gayle King has gone viral, what was King thinking at that moment?
- During the top of “CBS This Morning,” King, who is one of the show’s four co-anchors, said she “really wasn’t worried” and “just wanted everybody to settle” during that moment.
- “You have to be calm in this moment because he is having a moment here,” she explained.
- She also noted that friends are calling her saying “Robert, Robert…” referring to the only words she uttered during the outburst.
- However, she wasn’t even aware she was saying it at the time, she said Thursday, March 7, 2019.
- Gayle is slated to host an extended version of the interview on a CBS News special March 8.
