WarnerMedia, which announced its new “HBO Max” streaming service, will launch the service in 2020.
That represents a delay — plans originally called for a late 2019 launch with three subscription tiers.
However, those plans were scrapped and now the launch has been pushed ton 2020 with the goal of bundling Max with HBO Now.
HBO Now allows non-cable or satellite subscribers to pay for an on demand streaming OTT version of most HBO content.
No pricing plans have been announced, but reports suggest it will be higher than Now’s $14.99 a month cost.
This would also put it higher than Netflix, Hulu and Disney+.
The new service is expected to include 10,000 hours of premium content.
In addition to popular series such as “Friends,” HBO Max will also include exclusive series.
