Despite Donald Trump’s own claims that Fox News star Sean Hannity will be a “special guest” at a campaign rally in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the TV host is denying he will be part of the campaign efforts.
- In a tweet posted Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, Hannity writes “To be clear, I will not be on stage campaigning…”
- However, in a press release issued by Trump and a signup page posted on his campaign website, Hannity is listed as a “special guest” along with Rush Limbaugh and Lee Greenwood.
- Instead, Hannity tweets that he will broadcast a live show from the rally location and interview Trump.
- The White House has set up similar arrangements in the past with Hannity.
- Former Fox News exec Bill Shine serves as Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and would likely play a key role in setting up such an interview.
In spite of reports, I will be doing a live show from Cape Girardeau and interviewing President Trump before the rally. To be clear, I will not be on stage campaigning with the President. I am covering final rally for my show. Something I have done in every election in the past.
