David Gura, who joined NBC and MSNBC from Bloomberg last year is reportedly set to host a two hour panel show from 8 to 10 a.m. eastern on Saturday and Sunday.

Sources tell Mediaite the network is considering using the “Up” name and branding it previously used on Chris Hayes’ weekend show before he took over “All In” on weekdays.

Hugh Hewitt

Assuming the plans come to light, Gurra’s show will take over the slot previously occupied by “Hugh Hewitt,” which was canceled in July 2018 (although MSNBC has yet to remove it from its website) and generic hour of “MSNBC Live.

On Sundays, Gura’s show would replace Al Sharpton’s “Politics Nation” which is said to be moving to 5 p.m. on Sunday and adding a Saturday edition at the same time, replacing “MSNBC Live” blocks.
The purported schedule changes notably don’t interfere with any named programming blocks such as “AM Joy” or “Weekends with Alex Witt.”
