Live, from New York, it’s … ‘The Tonight Show’

In addition to announcing plans for special editions following “Sunday Night Football,” “The Tonight Show” also announced it will go live for the first week of the new season.

“Tonight” typically tapes weekdays at 5 p.m. in front of a live studio audience in Studio 6B in 30 Rockefeller Center.

However, from Sept. 23 to 27, the show will broadcast live in most markets at 11:35 p.m. eastern (10:35 p.m. central) and on tape delay for most of the rest of the country.

Fallon recently hosted two live shows after the first Democratic presidential primary debates on June 26 and 27.

Prior to that, live telecasts aired following Super Bowl LII and Super Bowl XLIX.
