Local Now coming to OTT boxes

The Weather Channel’s local news and information streaming service Local Now will launch on Apple TV, Amazon Fire, iOS and Android Devices Dec. 20, 2019 under the name Local Now Plus.

• In addition to the free stream of Local Now, the app will also offer 150 movies.
• Local  Now is also planning to expand into 500 markets (compared to its current 225) in 2020.
• The service is also planning new content channels with content partners.
• Finally, the service will undergone a redesign in 2020.
