Longtime NBC News employee dies from coronavirus
An NBC News veteran has died from coronavirus, the network reported Friday, March 20, 2020.
Larry Edgeworth worked in an equipment room at the network’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza headquarters and had underlying health issues, according to his wife.
Edgeworth has worked for NBC for 25 years, previously as an audio technician who traveled the globe with some of the network’s high profile correspondents.
“Many of you were fortunate enough to work with Larry over the years, so you know that he was the guy you wanted by your side no matter where you were,” NBC News chairman Andy Lack wrote in a staff email.
The memo also quoted Stacy Brady, NBCUniversal’s executive vice president for field and production operations as describing Edgeworth “… as the ‘gentle giant who would give you the shirt off his back.”
Edgeworth is survived by his wife and two sons.
