MSNBC hires Trymaine Lee as a correspondent

MSNBC has hired Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Trymaine Lee as a correspondent:
- Lee — who until now was a National Reporter contributing online and on air for NBC News and MSNBC digital — will remain based in New York City
- His appointment is effective immediately
- Lee will cover the role of race, violence, politics and law enforcement in America and bring his expertise in social justice issues to MSNBC’s primetime and weekend programming
- He will appear regularly on “All In with Chris Hayes,” “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” and “AM Joy.”
- Lee joined NBC News and MSNBC in 2012 as a national reporter for the digital unit, where he covered the Ferguson, Missouri, protests
