NBC launches coronavirus Facebook Group

NBC News has created a Facebook group devoted to coronavirus news and updates.

The group has nabbed the handle “coronavirusupdate” and is sitting at about 30,000 members as of March 19, 2020.

The group was created March 15.

NBC’s rules for the public group include “This group is to foster the sharing and discussion of information. Intentional misinformation sharing and trolling will result in a user being banned from the group” and asks that users “… not post long press releases, the text of articles, or other mass / chain text formats that are not real-time discussion.”
