NBC says it will release staffers from NDAs about alleged harassment if they ask
NBC News says it will release former staffers from nondisclosure agreements if they want to go public with their stories about alleged sexual harassment at the network.
- “Any former NBC News employee who believes that they cannot disclose their experience with sexual harassment should contact NBCUniversal from that perceived obligation,” said a statement issued by the network.
- The move comes as the network comes under increasing scrutiny after reports surfaced that the network settled multiple sexual misconduct allegations in secret — and required employees to sign NDAs to receive the settlement.
- At least one lawyer representing for NBCUniversal employees says he thinks former staffers may still feel uncomfortable contact NBC management in order to meet the “vague” requirements.
