Foxtel, an Australian pay TV provider, is teaming up with Netflix to deliver both companies’ content via a single source.
In addition to delivering Foxtel content, the network’s compatible set top boxes will be updated to allow customers to access Netflix subscriptions from the same interface.
Updates are rolling out to iQ4 boxes now, with iQ3 models becoming eligible in September.
Foxtel says it also plans similar integrations with other, unnamed, streaming services in the “coming months.”
Netflix has similar agreements with major cable providers in the U.S., including via Comcast’s Xfinity platform.
Foxtel is owned by News Corp. Australia, which was not part of the assets sold to Disney.
