Netflix is launching an “Afterparty” brand that will start as a 2020 retrospective and then shift to a weekly comedy panel show.

“The Netflix Afterparty: The Best Show of the Worst Year” drops Dec. 13, 2020, and will be hosted by David Spade, Fortune Feimster and London Hughes, who will look back at the streamer’s best and most memorable moments on 2020.

Guests include Kevin Hart, Anya Taylor-Joy, Lily Collins, Emma Corrin, Josh O’Connor, Lauren and Cameron Hamilton and Rick Kirkham. Jo Koy will serve as guest comedian.

Then, in 2021 the show will become a weekly comedy panel show.

Coincidentally, Netflix’s “Afterparty” was announced the same day as an Apple TV+ series that uses the word “Afterparty” as well.

Spade, Feimster and Hughes are slated to remain as hosts, with a different guest comedian joining each week.

The group will “celebrate one of the latest Netflix movies or TV shows to hit the cultural zeitgeist, with the stars of that title participating in interviews, pop culture discussions, sketches and segments,” according to the streamer.

18 episodes have been ordered, but no premiere date has been announced.

Spade previously hosted “Lights Out” for Comedy Central, but that show was canceled in April 2020. Feimster appeared several times on that show.

Netflix has ordered 18 episodes already, with a premiere date slated for sometime in 2021.

In some ways the Dec. 13 special of a show talking about its own network’s (or, in this case, streamer’s) shows is reminiscent of Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” — though 2020 retrospective will cover an entire year rather than just the past few day’s worth of programming.

Once the show shifts to the panel format, it will resemble any number of similar shows of the same style.
