After losing its news director, Nexstar’s newly rebranded NewsNation network has lost its managing editor.
Richard Maginn turned in resignation the week of March 1, 2021, the same week WGN America took on the name “NewsNation,” formerly the name of its three hour primetime newscast.
Maginn follows Sandy Pudar, the operation’s news director, who quit in February.
No official word was given for either exit, though insiders report the network’s moves to the right may have been at least part of the reason.
Political correspondent Dean Reynolds also exited in February, though he said while the timing seemed odd, he had only signed a six month contract with the network that ran out after the election and inauguration.
