Nexstar Media Group is moving forward with its plans to launch a primetime newscast on WGN America.
The company says it is targeting a Sept. 1, 2020, launch for the channel.
The three hour show will be called “News Nation” and originate from WGN’s building in Chicago.
Nexstar is building a new set and newsroom for the show.
While Nexstar did not immediately make any decisions, questions about when the new show would launch began to arise after the coronavirus pandemic.
