WGME, Sinclair’s CBS affiliate in Portland, Maine, stayed on the air even as its studio flooded Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019.
- After a heavy rainstorm, a storm drain near the station backed up.
- This caused water to seep into the studio through external doors.
- The station managed to stay on air, but was forced to anchor its newscast from the newsroom.
- Photos on the station’s website show a person still working in the studio’s weather center, which is raised off the floor where most of the water gathered.
