MSNBC is airing a promo that briefly mentions NBCUniversal parent Comcast’s ties to Sky.
The promo is centered around the global reporting on the coronavirus pandemic and features both NBC and Sky reporters.
Sky itself is mentioned a single time — though its logo doesn’t appear in the spot at all.
NBC became a corporate cousin to Sky in 2018 after a complex bidding war that resulted in Comcast acquiring Sky from 21st Century Fox, representing a significant expansion into the European market for the company.
Sky and NBC have announced plans to create an English language global news service called NBC Sky World News.
That venture, which also includes opening 10 bureaus around the world, was initially planned for a summer 2020 launch but has since been delayed.
Comcast previously owned part of Euronews.
