The second night of the first democratic debate of the 2020 presidential election cycle broke viewership records.
According to Nielsen “overnight” estimates, 18.1 million people tuned to the debate on NBC, MSNBC or Telemundo.
That topped the first night’s ratings of 15.3 million.
This was a record for televised democratic debates since Nielsen has tracked the ratings.
The previous record was set in October 2015 when 15.5 million watched Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders spar.
