Shocker: Disney+ apparently gets overloaded on its first day
It looks like Disney+ plus could a little bit of Tinkerbell’s magic dust.
- The highly anticipated service launched as planned Nov. 12, 2019, but not long after that complaints about difficulties opening the app and various warning messages popped up soon thereafter.
- Subscribers had issues ranging from signing in, setting up profiles and not seeing certain content that was promised to be available.
- Disney, meanwhile, took the technical issues as an opportunity to gloat: “The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our highest expectations. While we are pleased by this incredible response, we are aware of the current user issues and are working to swiftly resolve them. We appreciate your patience,” it said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.
- Customers also complained about long hold times for customer service via telephone.
