‘Sunnyside’ moving to digital platforms

NBC has made the somewhat unusual decision to take sitcom “Sunnyside” off its broadcast schedule and move it to digital only.

• Starting Oct. 23, 2019, “Will & Grace” will take over the timeslot.
• “Sunnyside,” which stars “House” and “Designated Survivor” alum Kal Penn, will move to NBC’s digital platforms.
• Assuming the show isn’t canceled, it’s likely to become part of the Peacock streaming service NBC is launching in 2020.
