Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” posted a photo that is leaving many fans hopeful the second season of the show is coming soon.
The image, posted to the show’s Facebook page, shows stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, apparently in costume, walking around what is presumably an outdoor filming location.
“The Morning Show” premiered in November 2019, with production for the first season running from October 2018 to May 2019.
The show began shooting again in February 2020, but halted March 12, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The show returned to filming with safety precautions in October 2020.
Apple has said the second season will be released in 2021, date that was likely affected by the pandemic. The company has yet to release a more specific premiere date but it’s worth noting the first season had about seven months between production wrapping and the series dropping.
It’s not immediately clear when the images the show posted were taken or what the production status is, though both Aniston and Witherspoon are shown wearing face shields — though it’s not apparent if that’s part of safety precautions for when the cameras aren’t rolling or if they are part of their costume.
Episodes of the show were reportedly rewritten to incorporate COVID-19 into the storylines.
