A staffer on the third hour of NBC News‘ “Today” has tested positive for coronavirus.
The diagnosis was announced by co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb on Monday, March 16, 2020’s show, including news that Al Roker and Craig Melvin aren’t in studio because they may have had contact with the affected employee.
The network says it’s in the process of identifying and contacting anyone who had contact with the staffer and third hour employees are working remotely.
We learned late last night a colleague on the 3rd hour of TODAY tested positive for COVID-19.
Out of an abundance of caution, Craig and Al are taking the morning off while we map that colleague’s close contacts. pic.twitter.com/aVHJpMU1Fj
