Travel Channel loses its vowels in logo redesign

Discovery Network’s Travel Channel has been rebranded with a new logo.
- The logo, which now shortens the channel name to “Trvl” — in other words, removing all the vowels — features gold lettering with a violet arrow.
- The network’s name is still pronounced “Travel Channel” despite the logo design change (arguably, even without the vowels, the letters “Trvl” would still sound something like “travel” when read out loud).
- While the network still broadcasts travel programming, it also offers leisure and lifestyle programming that go beyond just travel related content, which could be part of the move to rebrand the network with a new logo.
