Variety cancels annual Emmy party — will instead donate to Planned Parenthood

Variety won’t host its annual Emmys party this year — instead opting to make a donation to Planned Parenthood.

It’s not clear how much that donation is or if it’s equivalent to the actual cost of putting on the party.

The donation comes in the wake of Planned Parenthood’s announcement that it will stop taking government funding after the current administration blocked the organization from discussing its abortion services with patients.
