Vice News’ D.C. bureau chief leaves for Quibi

Shawna Thomas, the Washington, D.C. bureau chief for Vice News, has left the company and is headed for short form mobile video platform Quibi.
- Quibi, which is backed by media mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg, is set to launch in April 2020.
- At Quibi, Thomas will be a “content executive” working on daily news and other projects.
- She’s starting Nov. 4, 2019, and is expected to move to New York.
