Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign logo design and branding uses Brother 1816.

• In the logo design, Brother 1816 has been modified in places, including, most notably, changing the “E” into a set of horizontal bars that can be read as stripes.
• The 1816 in the font’s name takes its name from the year the “first” sans serif font was released — Calson by William Caslon.
• Brother 1816 was released in 2016 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the first sans serif font.
• It’s worth noting that lettering without serifs (e.g. sans serifs) existed centuries before 1816.
