“Jeopardy!” super champ James Holzhauer, who recently won a game by just $18, is set to tie yet another record May 1, 2019.
- If Holzhauer wins the game during the May 1 episode of the syndicated game show, he will tie Julia Collins‘ 20 game record.
- Collins won 20 consecutive games in 2014, so a 20th win would tie with her.
- Winning 21 games would surpass Collins — who is 54 wins behind the all time record, still held by Ken Jennings who won 74 games in 2004 — so Holzhauer will have a ways to go before hitting that count.
- Holzhauer does, however, hold the second place record for regular season winnings — behind Jennings’ $2,520,700.
- Collins won a “mere” $428,100 on her 20 appearances.
- However, Holzhauer has accumulated over half of Jennings’ prize money total in less than half the games it took Jennings to earn that amount.
- Holzhauer’s win has become a nationwide craze, with the show even creating a “James Tracker” on its website.
